The New Kids Corner
Our bright and spacious new Kids Corner will reflect Pawling’s beautiful natural surroundings and our status as an Appalachian Trail community.
Architect Steven Grgecic designed an addition which tucks neatly and unobtrusively onto the side of our library building. With plenty of windows and high ceilings, the room will feel more spacious than its small footprint suggests.
Allison Grace Design designed furnishings and interiors that provide for storage and display of library materials that are easily accessible to our youngest patrons. The design also includes space for children’s programming, including storage for teaching materials, as well as an area for our childrens’ computers. In keeping with our Appalachian Trail theme, Allison chose green, blue and brown hues along with whimsical design elements like a cloud lighting fixture and a painted tree on one wall.
